The Basics

Wisconsin, a state in the northern part of America's midwest region, entered the Union in 1848.  Its largest city, Milwaukee, is on the shores of Lake Michigan roughly 80 miles north of Chicago, Illinois.  Madison, the state's capitol city, is home to the state's largest university.
