April 30, Sunday, Pewaukee River Day Trip from County M into the Fox River and below the dam at Frane Park in downtown Waukesha the day after the Pewaukee River Race. BYO Lunch. Leader: Lois Brown at 414-535-0014.

FOX RIVER PREAMBLE: This is the first of six contiguous sections of the S Fox River to be attempted this season. Starting at the Pewaukee’s confluence with the Fox and concluding Sept 9 th in the WI/IL border town of Wilmont.

May 6, Saturday, Cedar Creek Day Trip on a small but interesting river. BYO Lunch. Leader: Jim Marcou at 414-425-9033.

May 7, Sunday, Crawfish River Day Trip with lunch stop (BYO) at Aztalan State Park and ending in Jefferson. Leader: Brad Lehnigk at 262-542-6956.

May 13, Saturday, Oconomowoc River Day Trip from downtown Oconomowoc to Concord. BYO Lunch. Leader: Mike Craig at 414-354-0047.

May 20, Saturday, Fox River Day Trip, Segment # 2 {Put in will be at the take out from the April 30 trip. We will paddle out of Waukesha through rural farm and wood lands to co. hwy ‘I”. BYO lunch. G ary Johncox at 262-534-2131.

May 21, Sunday, Milwaukee River Day Trip from Newburg to Waubeka. BYO Lunch. Leader: Mike Craig at 414-354-0047.

May 27-30, Memorial Day Weekend, Platte, Grant, & Galena Rivers of south-western Wisconsin near the Illinois line. Camping at Yellowstone State Park with group meals. Limited to 25 people. Leaders: Lynn and Diane Pagenkop at 414-540-1161.

June 3&4, Milwaukee Riversplash Festival Weekend Canoe Rides for Children. Volunteers will be needed for crowd control, pre-paddle prep (PDF’s and help into canoes), and paddling our catamaran-configured, twin-Grumman canoes on the downtown Milwaukee River. Loud music, good food, and a rewarding experience with young canoers’ first exposure to canoeing and the view up from the river. Call Bill Ross at 414-332-1889 to schedule your volunteer hours.

June 10, Saturday, Fox River Day Trip, Segment 3 another day and another section of the Fox River. BYO Lunch. Gary Johncox at 262-534-2131.

June 14, Wednesday, Twilight Paddle on the Downtown Milwaukee River the first of four monthly evening trips. Leader: Bill Ross at 414-332-1889.

June 17-18, Weekend, Baraboo River nostalgia trip on the anniversary of what seemed to be the rainiest Memorial Day Weekend in Wisconsin history. Camping again at Mirror Lake State Park with group meals. Limited to 20 campers. Leader again: Kate Blair at 414-297-9230.

June 25, Sunday, Fowler Lake and Oconomowoc River Paddle, Swim, and Potluck Picnic in downtown Oconomowoc. A relaxing day on the water. Leader: Lois Brown at 414-535-0014.

July 1-4, Weekend, Fourth of July on the Brule River with riverside camping in the Nicolet National Forest and group meals. Leaders: Bill Ross at 414-332-1889 and Carl Wisler at 262-542-9593.

July 8, Saturday, Fox River Segment 4 Put in at Big Bend and paddle approx-imately 12 miles to and through the Waterford flowage; take out above the Waterford dam. The last 5 miles of this trip is flowage/lade paddling among 1,200 homes and their residence. It may represent some of the most challenging whitewater paddling of the season, prepare yourself. July 9, Sunday, Bark River Day Trip

July 12, Wednesday, Twilight Paddle on the Milwaukee River at Lincoln Park

as the second of the monthly series. Leader: Bill Ross at 414-332-1889.

July 15-16, Weekend, Kickapoo River Trip with camping at Wilton City Park and group meals. Leader: Carl Wisler at 262-542-9593. Biking on the Elroy-Sparta Trail is also available.

August 5, Saturday, More Fox River segment #5. This month may involve a little river walking portage. Put in below the Waterfordd dam and paddle to and portage the Rochester dam. Continue through Burlington to Hoosier Creek. BYO lunch. Leader Gary Johncox at 262-534-2131.

August 9, Wednesday, Downtown Milwaukee River Dinner and Full Moon Paddle. Twilight paddle #3 with a dinner stop at a riverside restaurant and return paddle in a full moon. Leader: Bill Ross at 414-332-1889.

August 12-15 Namekagon River for five days of riverside camping on a premier scenic river camping. Limit of 12 people. Leader: Chris Locher at 414-228-7787.

August 26, Saturday, Rock River Day Trip from the Highway 16 wayside to Pipersville. BYO Lunch. Leader: Mike Craig at 414-354-0047.

August 27, Sunday, Lulu Lake Paddle and Swim from Eagle Spring Lake into Lulu Lake with ample time for practicing your paddle strokes,

September 2-4, Labor Day Weekend, Trempealeau River with camping in Perrot State Park and group meals. Biking and Hiking also available. 30 camper limit. Leader: Gary Johncox at 262-534-5480.

September 9, Saturday, Lower Fox River Day Trip as the wrap-up on our five-segment exploration of the Fox River. BYO Lunch. Leader: Gary Johncox at 262-534-2131 Followed on Sunday by a Bluegrass music festival at East Troy including, for better or worse, performances by our own Mud River Lee Modder.

September 13, Wednesday, Final Twilight Milwaukee River Paddle at Lincoln Park. Leader: Bill Ross at 414-332-1889.

September 16-17, Weekend, Wisconsin River Sandbar Camping Trip as a farewell to summer after the tourist’s traffic abates on one of the most scenic sections of the Wisconsin River. Group meals. Leader: Bill Ross at 414-332-1889.
